Designed mechanical housings for several geotechnical sensor heads that had to remain intact and waterproof after being rammed several hundred feet underground. Designed electronics for above sensor heads that conditioned signals from force, pressure, temperature and tilt sensors. Designed hardware and firmware for datalogging equipment. Firmware was developed with assembly language and/or C. Managed a government contract to retrieve data from an offshore sensor installation. Duties included coordinating boats and divers, recovering the instrument using SCUBA, retrieving and processing data, and making repairs to the instrument.
